Phi Phi Islands, Maya Bay & Khai Island
Take a full day trip by speed boat to some of Thailand’s most beautiful islands. Enjoy a full day of relaxing on the beach, snorkeling and swimming with some of the best views in the country.
On this trip you will visit Khai Island, the Phi Phi Islands and Maya Bay, one of Thailand’s most famous and prettiest beaches.
See great scenery like the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea, tropical islands, sandy beaches lined with palm trees and impressive limestone hills rising vertically out of the sea. Take a swim or snorkel in the warm waters of the Andaman Sea full of tropical colorful fish and corals.
Colorful fish and corals
The Phi Phi Islands are among the most popular snorkeling destinations in Thailand. The waters are usually calm and clear, there is a good variety in corals and colorful fish and the scenery with views of limestone cliffs is beautiful.
Pier in Phuket
The tour starts with pick up from your hotel in one of Phuket’s beach resorts like Patong, Kata or Karon or from Phuket Town. A short drive takes you to the pier on the East coast of Phuket.
Monkey Beach
First stop is Monkey Beach on Koh Phi Phi Don. A gorgeous sandy beach with crystal clear waters, the beach was named after the monkeys that live in the area. It’s fun to watch them wander around on the beach and even venture into the water. Don’t try to touch them though, they are wild animals that will protect themselves when they feel threatened.
Viking Cave
Then it’s on to Viking Cave, a cave in the rock named after the paintings of boats, some of which resemble Viking ships. It is this cave that the main ingredient for bird’s nests soup, a Chinese specialty, comes from. It is harvested by climbing scaffolding made out of bamboo. Viking Cave can only be seen from the boat since it is closed to visitors.
Pi Leh Lagoon
Next stop on Phi Phi Leh Island is Pi Leh Lagoon. Almost completely surrounded by towering limestone cliffs, the lagoon is sheltered from the elements. Its calm, clear waters are a great place for snorkeling. Snorkel right from the boat and admire the colorful marine life in the turquoise waters.
Loh Samah Bay
Across from Maya Bay on Koh Phi Phi Leh is Loh Samah Bay, another beautiful bay with emerald waters, a small sandy beach and backdrop scenery of towering limestone cliffs.
Maya Bay
Next stop is Maya Bay, one of Thailand’s prettiest beaches. The beach is located on Koh Phi Phi Leh. Maya Bay became famous after it featured in the movie “The Beach” with Leonardo DiCaprio.
Secluded bay surrounded by steep limestone mountains
When approaching the island by speed boat you will see the towering limestone cliffs rising vertically from the sea. The white, sandy beach lined with palm trees is sheltered in a beautiful secluded bay with calm and clear waters surrounded by steep limestone mountains.
With its aquamarine bay, limestone cliffs, forested hills and colorful longtail boats lined up on the beach, Maya Bay is one of the most scenic places to visit in Thailand.
Maya Bay was made part of the Hat Noppharat Thara - Mu Koh Phi Phi National Marine Park to protect its rich marine life.
Khai Island
The last stop is Khai Island about a twenty minute speed boat ride away from Phuket. A small island in the Andaman Sea between Phuket and the Phi Phi islands, Khai Island is surrounded by warm, turquoise waters suitable for swimming and snorkeling.
The water near the beach is shallow which makes it good for children. When you wade into the water, you will see schools of small fish swimming close to the beach. If you feed them some bread, you will instantly be surrounded by a large number of them.
The white sandy beach is lined with deck chairs covered by umbrellas for rent. Small restaurants and stands serve food, snacks, beers and fruit shakes.
