The best way to learn how to cook delicious Thai food is by taking individual classes from an experienced English speaking teacher in a fully equipped kitchen.

Original, traditional recipes

Wandee cooking school teaches students how to cook authentic Thai food and desserts using original, traditional recipes. Students will learn how to prepare the ingredients and cook main dishes as well as desserts, herbal drinks and chili pastes.

Wandee cooking school offers a wide variety of dishes and desserts to choose from. All recipes are in English language.

Several decades of experience

Wandee cooking school is led by Professor Wandee Na-Songkhla, who founded the cooking school nearly 25 years ago and has over 30 years of experience. The school is accredited by the Thai Ministry of Education.

Learn about Thai herbs, spices & chili pastes

Spices and herbs are essential ingredients in Thai cooking. During the course you will learn about herbs, spices and vegetables commonly used in the most popular Thai dishes, such as kaffir lime leaves, galangal, lemongrass and fish sauce.

You will also learn how to prepare curry paste, Thai chili paste, seasoning and dipping sauces and how to attractively present the food, with for example banana leaves decoration.

Cooking courses

Wandee cooking school offers cooking classes from one day to several months. Customized programs are open to people of all levels of skills and experience, from absolute beginner to experienced professional cook. Classes are individual and in English language.

Classic Thai cooking course

After completing the seven-day classic Thai cooking course you will have learned how to cook the most popular Thai dishes.

Each day will cover four main dishes plus a Thai dessert, herbal drink, curry paste or Thai chili paste. You will also learn about the ingredients used in Thai cooking as well as the use of tools in Thai kitchens such as fryers, woks and steamers.

Each day consists of a morning and afternoon class of three hours each.

Customized Thai cooking course

Take the one-day customized Thai cooking course to learn how to prepare a few of your favorite Thai dishes. You will be able to choose your own menu. Select your four favorite dishes plus either a Thai dessert, herbal drink, curry paste or Thai chili paste.

The course consists of one morning and one afternoon, 3 hours each.

Other courses

Also available are basic and advanced professional Thai cooking courses lasting 150 to 300 hours as well as well as regional authentic Thai food classes (North, Northeast and South) and fruit and vegetable carving.

Recipes

Students can choose which dishes they would like to learn to cook. Both recipes and cooking instructions are in English.

  • Yam Ma-Muang (Green mango salad)
