Center of Patong nightlife

Patong is the center of nightlife in Phuket. Most of the action is centered around Bangla Road and its side streets.

Bangla Road

Bangla Road is a walking street lined with countless beer bars, go-go bars, discotheques, nightclubs and massage shops. Always busy at night, the street is a jungle of bright neon lights and lots of noise. With scantily dressed girls, touts promoting shows and promo girls trying to lure in customers everywhere, Bangla Road is a fun night out and an amazing experience.

Side streets

Make sure to also explore the many side streets of Bangla Road, the small sois.

Alway halfway through Bangla Road is Soi Sea Dragon that has several dozen beer bars and go-go bars.

Opposite Soi Sea Dragon is Soi Patong Resort. Here you will find two Italian restaurants, Thai restaurants, Nirvana Massage, bars and tailor shops.

Soi Freedom is a narrow street lined with beer bars, a good place to relax watching sports on a wide screen TV or play a game of Connect 4 or Jenga with the girls.

Fun experience

Even if Bangla Road is not your kind of thing, walk through the street at least once for the experience. Do some people watching or play a game like Connect 4 with one of the girls.

Scantily dressed girls

Promo girls standing in front of the bar try to lure in customers. Inside scantily dressed girls dance on the bar or a stage.

Ladyboy dancers

Walking through Bangla Road you will see ladyboys called kathoey in Thai dancing on a small stage and posing for photos.

Ladyboy cabaret shows

If you like to watch a professional ladyboy cabaret show, go to the Simon Cabaret Show in Patong, the Aphrodite Cabaret Show in Phuket Town or the Simon Star Show in Phuket Town.

Bars, clubs & discotheques

Bangla Road and its side streets are lined with beer bars, nightclubs, discotheques and go-go bars.

Moulin Rouge Club

The Moulin Rouge is a gentlemen’s club with Russian girls. Watch shows like strip dancing and pole dancing. The Moulin Rouge club is located near the beach end of Bangla Road opposite the Kangaroo bar. It opens daily from 10 pm until 4 am.

Aussie Bar

The Aussie bar in Soi Gonzo is the place to relax and have a beer or cocktail. Watch sports on the wide screen TV or play a game of pool. Aussie bar serves food like fish and chips, burgers and Thai food.

New York Bar

If you like live music go to New York Bar at the start of Soi Viking. Three bands play all kinds of music like rock and ballads. Relax with a drink or dance in front of the stage. The bands play from 7 pm until 3 am. Beers cost 150 to 180 Baht.

Red Hot Club

Another live music bar is the Red Hot Club. The band plays varied music like old school rock and pop. There is a small dance floor in front of the stage, sport games are shown on TV’s. You will find the Red Hot Club right at the start of Bangla Road on the intersection with Rat-U-Thit Road. The live music starts at 8 pm, the club opens until 4 am.

Illuzion Nightclub

One of the biggest clubs in Phuket, Illuzion nightclub has three different rooms. Well known international DJ’s play various music, the sound equipment is excellent. Illuzion offers an all you can drink until 1 am package. The club is located opposite Tiger nightclub and opens until the early morning.

Tiger Nightclub

Tiger Nightclub is a huge two storey club near the start of Bangla Road. Large concrete tigers on the wall overlook the street. There are beer bars on the ground floor, the nightclub is on the upper floor. DJ’s play various music and there are shows like pole dancing. There is no entrance fee. You can buy an open bar ticket at 599 Baht which will get you unlimited local drinks until 2 am. Keep the old glass to have it refilled.

Hollywood Discotheque

Hollywood Discotheque near the end of Bangla Road towards the beach end has a dance floor and a VIP section. DJ’s play music as hip hop, R&B, dance and house. Good looking hostesses will hang out with you if you buy them drinks. For 500 Baht you can get unlimited drinks between 9 pm and 3 am.

Go-Go Bars

There are several go-go bars around Bangla Road. Among them are Club Lover A Go Go, Suzy Wong’s A Go-Go, Harem Gentlemen’s Club and The Devil’s Playground. All of these are in Soi Sea Dragon, halfway Bangla Road.

All you can drink packages

Several clubs offer an all you can drink package. Keep your old glass to get it refilled. Drinks you order for hostesses are not included. Conditions vary. Make sure you know which drinks are included and between what times the package is valid.

There is plenty of food for all tastes and budgets in and around Bangla Road, like seafood, fast food, Thai, Italian and Indian.

Fast food
For fast food, go to Burger King or McDonald’s on Bangla Road.

Thai & seafood
There is a wide choice of Thai and seafood restaurants on Bangla Road and its side streets, as well as on Thawewong Road along the beach.

You will find Mengrai Seafood at the end of a small soi opposite Burger King on Bangla Road. Several basic shops sell Thai food and seafood at low prices in a market style setting.

More basic eateries in Soi Lao, a narrow soi opposite Soi Freedom, about halfway through Bangla Road. Vendors sell Thai food and seafood.

Italian
If you like Italian food, go to either Da Mario Patong or Salute Italian Restaurant Pizzeria, both on Soi Patong Resort.

Danish
Rundetarn Fondue & Steak House in Soi Patong Resort serves good Danish and Thai food.

Bangla Road in the daytime

Bangla Road is open to traffic during the day. Not much goes on until the evening, although shops, tailors and many of the beer bars are open.

Where is Bangla Road

Bangla Road is located in the center of Patong between the beach and Rat-U-Thit Road opposite the main entrance of Jungceylon Shopping Center.

Hotels close to Bangla Road

La Flora Resort Patong
The beachfront La Flora Resort Patong has a choice of deluxe rooms, suites and pool villas. There are two pools, a fitness centre and two restaurants at the five-star hotel. La Flora Resort is situated in the center of Patong in walking distance to shopping, bars, restaurants and massage shops. It’s a two-minute walk to Bangla Road.

Hotel Clover Patong Phuket
Hotel Clover Patong is a four-star hotel with comfortable rooms and suites. There are great views of the sea from its rooftop pool with poolside bar. Other facilities include a kids’ pool, fitness centre and a restaurant serving Thai and international cuisine. The hotel is in a central location one minute walk to Patong Beach and three minutes to Bangla Road.

Right on the beach in the center of Patong, the four-star Kudo Hotel offers spacious deluxe rooms. The new and modern hotel has a restaurant, a fitness centre and a pool with bar. It’s a two-minute walk from the nightlife at Bangla Road.

Impiana Resort Patong
Located right on Patong Beach, the Impiana Resort offers rooms, suites and villas. The four-star boutique resort is a few minutes walk to the nightlife at Bangla Road. Among the facilities are a beachfront pool with poolside bar, sauna and steam room. Its two restaurants, one of which is beachfront, serve international and Thai cuisine.

A one-minute walk from Bangla Road is the three-star Lokal Phuket that offers affordable rooms. The hotel has a pool with poolside bar. Its restaurant serves international and Thai cuisine. Lokal Phuket is located in the center of Patong, a few minutes walk to Patong Beach and Jungceylon Shopping Mall.
